The recession of 2008 nearly took my family out! We were faced with not only losing our current home that we just had built in a new market; but our rental property from the market we recently left! We were in a place where we thought we had no options; so we had to walk away from our homes and foreclose on both properties seeking shelter for our family in a rental. I remember saying, “I wish we knew something we could do that would help prevent us losing the ‘home’ our family came to know, getting major hits on our credit report, and ultimately feeling secure about our future, safety, and family financial stability. After years years of failing, learning, and growing we were able to reposition ourselves to not only build our financial portfolio & credit scores, but our sense of security.
